Michael doing an excellent job of representing the SumbyDoonan group at RACI centenary conference in the Stranks Award.
Talking about chemoselective reactions in a MOF.
Good luck Michael!

For the next 3+ months we have three international visitors in the lab: Virgil Guillon (University of Rennes 1), Kenji Okada (Osaka Prefecture University) and Eli Sanchez-Gonzalez (Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico). Welcome guys!
Jesse Teo has received favorable reports for his PhD thesis "Studies of Metal-Organic Polyhedra: Synthesis and Applications in Gas Storage and Separation". Well done Jesse! Jesse has published two excellent papers on MOP chemistry during his PhD including articles on new mixed-metal bimetallic MOPs and MOP-based mixed matrix membranes.
Renata's first paper on CO2 methanation catalyst discovery is available online. This paper documents the discovery and optimisation of the conversion of a Ru-impregnated UiO-66 MOF template into an active Ru@ZrO2 methanation catalyst. Work done in collaboration with the CSIRO team led by Danielle Kennedy using their high-throughput catalysis rig. Well done Renata!
In 2017 we welcome back quite a few students to the group. Rosemary Young is back after a year of travelling and work to commence a PhD and Rob Dickinson and Kate Flint are continuing on from Honours to PhD. We have three new students in the lab doing Honours and MPhil - Brock Rogers (supervised by Kenji Sumida), Tom de Prinse and Chris Coleman.
Pat Capon has completed his MPhil and passed with a Dean's commnedation. Congrats Patrick!
