Renata's first paper on CO2 methanation catalyst discovery is available online. This paper documents the discovery and optimisation of the conversion of a Ru-impregnated UiO-66 MOF template into an active Ru@ZrO2 methanation catalyst. Work done in collaboration with the CSIRO team led by Danielle Kennedy using their high-throughput catalysis rig. Well done Renata!
In 2017 we welcome back quite a few students to the group. Rosemary Young is back after a year of travelling and work to commence a PhD and Rob Dickinson and Kate Flint are continuing on from Honours to PhD. We have three new students in the lab doing Honours and MPhil - Brock Rogers (supervised by Kenji Sumida), Tom de Prinse and Chris Coleman.
Pat Capon has completed his MPhil and passed with a Dean's commnedation. Congrats Patrick!
Our joint review "New Directions for Mixed Matrix Membranes" with Janina Dechnik (Heinrich Heine University), Christoph Janiak (HHU) and Jorge Gascon (TU Delft) has been accpeted in Angewandte Chemie. The review gives a broad overview of porous additives for MMM fabrication.
Our new Angewandte Chemie paper is online - Mapping-Out Catalytic Processes in a Metal–Organic Framework with Single-Crystal X-ray Crystallography
Great work by Alex to painstakingly follow these reactions and a lot of access to the Australian Synchrotron to screen crystals and get publishable data.
We had a group trip down to the Maclaren Vale to show our Belgian and Japanese visitors some of the local scenery.
